HMG Design is a creative design firm focusing on the integration of Contemporary and Abstract Art driving projects toward the ultimate goal of art, presented as the primary design aesthetic. John Haslett, founder and visionary owner, interprets his design philosophy as one that reflects the origin of visual stimulation via showcasing a client's style of art appreciation; one that they envision their space to represent. Comprehensive insight into the client's core emotion of the physical structure's intentions, coupled with the client's detailed art direction, fuels our initial concepts. Client owned art pieces, purchases per design objectives and newly created pieces brought to life with commissioned artisans are all utilized. Customizing a project's gallery of art is accomplished not only through conventional artistic works, but also by applying the artistic direction towards more functional items like furniture, lighting and millwork to further integrate the purely visual. The shared client vision is gradually revealed and applied in a more traditional design fashion throughout the space.
Spatial challenges arise with every project allowing opportunities to imagine solutions that maintain an artistic continuity throughout the space. In order for the art to be truly highlighted in a comfortable manner, the physical space and the selected elements internally must be smoothly balanced so the viewer's eye is not distracted. We utilize analytical architectural principles as a supporting foundation to the presentation of Contemporary and Abstract forms. Collaboration between HMG Design, the client and commissioned craftsmen and artisans is an integral part of fulfilling the vision. All parties should fully embrace this combination of creative minds striving to bring new visual stimulation to our exploring eyes. As the lyrics from the title track, Reverence, from Faithless states, "You don't need eyes, You need vision". HMG Design is here to serve those that allow themselves to live life through their eyes as a way to create beyond their eyes.
